I started the morning fighting my way across a crosswalk with no signals, felt the meaning of “eternity,” enjoyed breakfast at the hotel, visited Lotte Mart, spent time with friends, and ended the day with an oil massage.

On June 5th, we cruised Halong Bay under heavy rain, trekked an island, then after returning soaked, warmed up with bun cha and rich egg coffee in the city.
We spent June 4th walking through Halong’s bustling morning market eating tempura and fruit, then headed to Sun World Halong where we rode a cable car high into the hills and took in views from the Ferris wheel.

We spent our final full day in Cebu just relaxing—swimming, reading, doing poolside aerobics with seahorses, eating dinner at Buhi Bar, and the next day, after a late checkout, headed to Jollibee for its famously sweet spaghetti, got a two-hour oil massage, and recharged in the Plaza Premium Lounge at Mactan–Cebu Airport.
In mid-January 2025, my partner and I flew from Narita to Cebu on Cebu Pacific, stayed three nights at Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, and dove right into the island mode — pool swims, buffet feasts, and tropical nights.
I spent my last day in New York soaking in holiday spirit at Radio City, eating well, picking up souvenirs, and ending the trip with a warm and lively gospel concert in Harlem.
