Souvenir Shopping at Local Supermarkets

We started the day at Auchan Supermarché Voltaire – Paris (see on map), looking for souvenirs. Bonne Maman sweets were cheaper here than at Carrefour City or Monoprix.

The store also carried a variety of herbal teas under its own brand.

From there, we walked to NATURALIA (see on map). The prices for Melvita products were lower than in Japan, so I bought Melvita’s avocado oil (€10.99) as a gift for a friend who had been worried about dry skin around her eyes.

Next, we went to MONOPRIX (see on map). It was quite a large store, with the entire second floor dedicated to groceries. We picked up more sweets as souvenirs there.

Monoprix’s eco bags are popular as affordable souvenirs, but since each one costs €3, I couldn’t help thinking, “Well, they’re not that cheap.”

Lunch Course at Café du Coin

For our final meal in Paris, we went to Café du Coin (see on map) for their lunch course. We arrived right when they opened, but all the tables were already reserved, so we were seated at the counter instead.

The dishes included a fennel appetizer, duck, and an apricot tart — everything was delicious. Sitting at the counter made us feel a bit like locals, and the relaxed atmosphere became a memorable part of the experience. The staff were friendly and easygoing, which made the meal even more enjoyable.

It was a wonderful place overall, and the total for two was €48. The only minor downside was that the apricot tart was a bit too sour for my partner.

Afternoon Stroll and Ice Cream Adventure

After returning to our room to pack, we still had some time before heading to the airport, so we stopped by Maison Kitsuné Filles du Calvaire (see on map).

The summer sale had just started, which was lucky for us — I bought a cap, and then we dropped by Merci (see on map) before returning to our Airbnb.

I wanted to have ice cream one last time at Les Gourmandises, Glaces maison (see on map), but it hadn’t opened yet at 3 p.m., so we gave up and went instead to La Glace Alain Ducasse, Manufacture à Paris (see on map).

We got a small cup with yuzu-passion fruit and grapefruit flavors for €7. The yuzu-passion fruit was so tangy that I laughed — but it was a hot day, so the refreshing taste was perfect.

Heading to the Airport on the Roissy Bus

We boarded the Roissy Bus at the Opéra stop. I had already purchased our tickets (€13 each) through the Bonjour RATP app, so we could simply tap to board.

Unfortunately, the bus we took didn’t have working air conditioning, and it was swelteringly hot all the way to the airport. We left Opéra at 4:17 p.m. and, after getting stuck in traffic, arrived at the shuttle train area of Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminal 3 around 5:30 p.m.

The driver told us to take the shuttle train from there to Terminal 1.

After moving to Terminal 1 and passing through security, we finally relaxed on a bench near the gate. I tried to charge my laptop using the outlet on the bench, but for some reason it didn’t work, so I used my mobile battery instead.

Unfortunately, I accidentally left my MacBook Air’s original AC adapter plugged into the outlet when we boarded the plane. After arriving in Japan, I reported it through the Charles de Gaulle Airport lost-and-found form — but the adapter never made its way back to me.

A Sunny Morning at Trocadéro Square

It was a beautiful sunny day, so we decided to climb the Eiffel Tower. We bought our tickets online from the official website, but the elevator tickets were already sold out. We chose the ones for walking up instead.

We took the metro to Trocadéro Square (see on map). From there, the Eiffel Tower looked so close and so huge! Since it was still early in the morning, there weren’t many tourists, and we could take plenty of photos without crowds in the background.

There were two security checks at the Eiffel Tower. During the first one, we didn’t need to show our tickets, but at the second checkpoint under the tower’s base, we had to present them. Both the official website and the ticket counter were sold out of elevator tickets, but it seemed that walking tickets could still be bought on-site even on the day.

The glass floor was terrifying—it really made my legs tremble.

After fully enjoying our visit to the Eiffel Tower, we decided to have lunch.

The Best Bakery: Maison Bergeron

We found a bakery called Maison Bergeron (see on map) by chance while searching on Google Maps, and it turned out to be the best bakery we’d been to in Paris. Every pastry looked delicious, and the display was perfect—each bread glistened as if it were freshly baked.

We tried a pain au chocolat, a raisin roll, a croissant, and an apple pie. Every single one was amazing, but the raisin roll was the best.

All that for just 7.2€—absolutely unbeatable. Maison Bergeron instantly became our favorite bakery.

Afternoon at Parc de Bagatelle

Since the weather was so nice, we decided to take a few buses and head to Parc Bagatelle – la Roseraie (see on map). The entrance fee was 2.7€ per person. The park was vast, and we got to see peacocks walking freely right in front of us.

The rose garden was stunning—so many varieties of roses in full bloom, all incredibly beautiful.

But it was really hot. Too hot, actually.

After finishing our walk through the rose garden, we made a loop around the park. We saw many ducks, and there were animal droppings here and there—it was quite an experience. Still, the rose garden we visited first was clearly the highlight. The rest felt like places you could explore if you had extra time.

A Perfect Dinner to End the Trip

From the park entrance, we took an Uber to the nearest metro station and then returned to our Airbnb.

Since it was our last night in Paris, we decided to eat out. I had pinned a few restaurant options in the Marais district, but on our way to the metro, we came across a cozy-looking place called Monsieur Poirot (see on map) and decided to give it a try.

I ordered the Angus steak, and my partner ordered the grilled octopus. Both dishes were fantastic, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming.

The total came to 77.30€, and we left the restaurant truly happy.

I’m so glad we spent our final Paris dinner there—it was the perfect way to end our trip.

Breakfast and the Journey to Giverny

For breakfast, we had the baguette, cheese, plums, and cherries we bought yesterday.

Then we took the metro to Gare Saint-Lazare (see on map). From here, we would take a regional train to visit Claude Monet’s House and Garden in Giverny (see on map), managed by the Claude Monet Foundation.

We bought our tickets from the machine at the station—17.60€ each, one way.

Since we still had some time before departure, we decided to stop by McDonald’s inside the station, curious to see how prices compared to Japan.

It turned out to be quite expensive—10.45€ for a simple meal. No wonder many foreign visitors find food in Japan surprisingly affordable.

Also, the muffin they served was torn. I couldn’t help thinking, “In Japan, they’d probably replace it right away without the customer even asking.”

The Train Ride to Vernon–Giverny

We took the 12:12 p.m. train bound for Normandy.

Each seat had both USB-A and Type-C outlets, and I regretted not bringing my charging cable.

The train windows were quite dirty. Then again, maybe that’s normal—it made me realize how spotless Japan tends to be. I thought, “Perhaps in Japan, we spend too much effort on services that can’t really be charged for.”

After about an hour, we arrived at Vernon–Giverny Station (see on map).

Right in front of the station, shuttle buses operated by SNGO! were waiting in sync with the train’s arrival. We took one with air conditioning, but there was also an open-air sightseeing bus running the same route for the same fare—10€ round trip.

The SNGO! bus accepted contactless credit card payment. After tapping, the driver handed us a paper receipt that served as a round-trip ticket.

Monet’s Garden: A Place I’d Been Longing to See

After a short walk from the bus stop, we reached the Claude Monet Foundation.

There was a long line at the ticket booth—much longer than I expected for a weekday afternoon. I instantly regretted not buying tickets online in advance. The entrance fee was 12€ per person.

Monet’s garden, which I had been most eager to visit on this trip, was stunning. Although only a few water lilies were blooming, countless colorful flowers filled the space with life and beauty.

We also toured the house itself, where many Japanese ukiyo-e prints were on display. Standing there, I felt an odd but wonderful sense of connection between Japan and France.

A Relaxing Break at the Botanical Café

After exploring the garden, we stopped by Botanic Café (see on map) nearby.

We ordered a citronnade, an apricot juice, and a tarte au citron—everything together was 17€.

The café was bright and airy, with just the right amount of shade. It was such a pleasant place to rest after walking in the sun.

When we later returned to the bus stop, we were glad we arrived early—the shuttle was packed, and many people couldn’t get on.

Delays and a Smooth Return to Paris

Back at Vernon–Giverny Station, we bought our return tickets.

Just then, an announcement said the train would be delayed by 30 minutes.

We decided to wait patiently, but soon another announcement said it would leave on time. We rushed to the platform—but the train never came. Eventually, its listing disappeared from the board.

When we asked at the counter, the staff explained that the train had been canceled and told us we could use the same tickets for the next one, an hour later.

Finally, the 7 p.m. train arrived. The car wasn’t crowded, and we found seats in an air-conditioned section. We rode comfortably back to Gare Saint-Lazare and then took Metro Line 9 to our neighborhood.

Our New Favorite Supermarket

Before going back to our Airbnb, we stopped at Auchan Supermarché Voltaire – Paris (see on map).

Unlike Carrefour, which we visited the day before, people here were actively buying vegetables, so the produce seemed fresher and better in quality.

We picked up lasagna, a baguette, chicken, yogurt, and juice for dinner.

Back home, we heated the food in the microwave and enjoyed a simple but satisfying meal.

Morning Stroll and a Tempting Restaurant

For breakfast, we had crackers and cheese we bought at Carrefour yesterday. The fig-flavored crackers were surprisingly delicious.

After eating, we went out for a short walk around the neighborhood.

We checked out a restaurant called Café du coin (see on map), where we were hoping to go for lunch today. A menu board was displayed outside, so I took a picture and asked ChatGPT to read it. Just looking at the menu text made us even more excited for lunch.

The Bustling Bastille Market

Next, we headed to the Bastille Market (see on map). It was full of fresh produce and vibrant colors—just walking around was enjoyable.

Some vendors offered us samples: a perfectly ripe melon and a few kinds of cheese. That made the market stroll even more fun.

At the butcher’s stall, we bought four sausages (5.14€). From the cheese shop, we picked up a goat cheese with an unusual look and another one we sampled and loved (9.90€ in total).

We also bought tomatoes, bell peppers, and apricots for 4€.

Cherries were piled high at every fruit stand—it must be the peak of the season.

When I asked for half a kilo (500g), the shopkeeper smiled and said, “750g for 5€!” I agreed.

Back at our Airbnb, we snacked on the fruits and crackers we had just bought.

The cherries were plump, sweet, and slightly tart—absolutely delicious. The apricots were soft and sweet too. Our market shopping was a big success.

Lunch Plans That Changed

After a short nap, we went back to Café du coin.

But when we sat down, we realized the lunch course menu we were looking forward to wasn’t available. The staff explained, “The course lunch is only served on weekdays.”

We told her, “We’ll come back another day!” and left the restaurant.

We then tried to buy some bread at a nearby bakery, but it had already closed at 1 p.m.

So, for lunch, we grilled the sausages we bought at the market and ate them with crackers and mascarpone cheese.

Pokémon Stop and Seine River Cruise

In the afternoon, it was time for the highlight of the day—the Seine River cruise.

On our way by bus to the dock on Île de la Cité, we spotted a Pokémon sign through the window. Curious, we got off early and went to Le Coin des Barons – Paris (see on map).

They sold Pokémon plushies and cards, but it wasn’t an official Pokémon Center. They also carried One Piece cards and even had a space for card battles.

Since we were in the area, we dropped by BHV Marais (see on map), a nearby department store. It felt a bit like LOFT, but more open and organized.

We then crossed over to Île de la Cité and thought we might see the restored Notre-Dame Cathedral. However, the waiting line was so long that we decided just to admire the façade from the front and skip the entry.

At the dock Vedettes du Pont Neuf (see on map), we arrived just five minutes before the 2:30 p.m. departure.

We bought tickets (17€ per person) and boarded the boat.

It was a hot day, but on the deck, the breeze felt pleasant and cool. The sunlight was strong, but the Eiffel Tower, shimmering in metallic gray, looked stunning from the river.

Evening Reflections

After disembarking, we stopped by La Samaritaine (see on map). The luxury brands made us realize it was far beyond our budget, so we left quickly. The store was also smaller than we expected.

We took the metro back to our station and dropped by Carrefour City.

They were selling leftover baguettes at a huge discount—apparently, day-old bread has almost no value here.

We also saw mushrooms for just 1€, but after noticing that some nearby vegetables were covered in mold, I put them back on the shelf.

At the milk section, there were so many varieties that we had no idea which was which, so we simply picked one based on the packaging.

For dinner, we made tomato soup pasta. The bell peppers we bought at the market were thick, juicy, and especially delicious.

Lunch at El Fornet Near Our Hotel

We had lunch at El Fornet (see on map), a café within walking distance of our hotel, Hotel Violeta Boutique (see on map). We had passed by it earlier and thought it looked stylish and cozy.

As soon as we entered, the staff told us “No English,” but we managed with pointing and gestures. We ordered an Iberian ham sandwich, cheese-filled bread, and freshly squeezed orange juice for 18€. The staff were friendly, and while the food and atmosphere were average, the overall experience was pleasant.

After leaving that café, we happened to find another branch of El Fornet and realized it was a chain café. We felt a bit disappointed—on trips, we usually prefer independent local shops. But Taco Bell doesn’t count; I love Taco Bell.

Visiting a Flower Shop and Market

We visited Flors Navarro (see on map), a flower shop we had seen from the bus the day before. Behind the flower shop was a small market(see on map). It was hard to tell whether the place was closed for the day or shutting down entirely, but it felt like the market was slowly declining.

I’m not an expert on European cities, but Barcelona seems full of modern supermarkets now. Maybe fewer people go to traditional markets these days.

Flying from Barcelona to Paris

After returning to the hotel and packing, we took the airport bus from Plaça de Catalunya (see on map) to Barcelona–El Prat International Airport (see on map). The fare was 7.45€ per person.

At the airport’s Terminal 1, we visited the Sala VIP Pau Casals Lounge. The lounge was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of food and drinks. Nothing was mind-blowingly delicious, but there were so many options that we didn’t get bored.

A Pleasant Surprise at ALE-HOP

Near our boarding gate, we saw ALE-HOP, a store we had noticed several times around the city. We went in and were surprised—hats were only 6€! I immediately bought one on impulse. Just a few days ago, I had paid 45€ for a cap at RSVP (see on map) in Paris, so this was about one-seventh the price.

When I asked the cashier to remove the price tag because I wanted to wear the hat right away, she tore it off with a quick, strong motion. I couldn’t help thinking, “That was wild.”

Arrival in Paris and Settling In

After landing at Orly Airport (see on map), we called an Uber. There’s a designated pickup area at the airport, and each section has lettered signs like “F,” which makes it easy to tell your driver where you are.

Our Airbnb apartment was new, functional, and comfortable. Since we had stayed in hotels during our trip in Spain, we couldn’t do laundry for a while, so the first thing we did after checking in was wash a huge pile of clothes.

An Ice Cream Gem: Les Gourmandises

We picked up a suitcase we had left with a friend in Paris and stopped by Merci (see on map), a shop within walking distance. Unfortunately, the hat I had wanted was sold out.

Later, we visited a nearby ice cream shop called Les Gourmandises, Glaces maison (see on map). I ordered milk chocolate chip and lemon, while he chose pear and passion fruit. Both were absolutely delicious, and the two cups together cost 9€.

Maybe the Paris heat made the ice cream taste even better, but I’m sure it would be just as good on a cold day. That’s how amazing it was.

While we were eating on the terrace, a man who seemed to be the owner came over and asked, “Where are you from?” When we said “Japan,” he smiled and greeted us in Japanese, saying, “Konnichiwa. Arigato.” He had seemed a bit distant when we ordered inside, but in reality, he was a very warm and friendly person.

On our way back to the apartment, we stopped by Carrefour City Sedaine Paris (see on map) and bought some gratin and other food for dinner.

Late Morning: Buttes-Chaumont Park Picnic
The weather was beautiful, so we went for a walk in Buttes-Chaumont Park (see on map).
I packed coffee in a thermos, a leisure sheet We had brought from Japan, and the potato chips we bought at Monoprix yesterday — ready for a picnic.
In the park, a group of HUNTER×HUNTER cosplayers were having a photoshoot. The scene was peaceful, and the costumes were impressive — even the larger, grown-up Gon looked perfectly recreated.
We found a nice bench in the shade to rest.
I was ready to eat the potato chips, but my partner had forgotten to pack them. So the picnic ended up being coffee only. My partner is truly forgetful.

Lunch: Pompom Chaumont
On our way back from the park, we found Pompom Chaumont (see on map) and decided to have lunch.
We ordered Eggs Benedict and pancakes topped with salmon, each with a smoothie. My partner chose the “Love in the Air” smoothie, while I had pineapple, orange, and mint.
The total came to 34€. The food was delicious, generous in portion, and we were very satisfied.
The terrace was sunny and slightly hot, but it was a pleasant lunch.

Afternoon: Bus Mishap and Marais Exploration
Since our Spain trip started tomorrow, we arranged to leave our large suitcase at a friend’s place in Paris.
Being frugal (or cheap), I decided to take the bus.
Carrying the suitcase in the blazing sun to the nearest bus stop, I waited — and waited. Google Maps said the bus was coming, but it didn’t arrive even 25 minutes past the scheduled time.
The electronic sign then changed to:
“ARRET NON DESSERVI – MANIFESTATION”
I sent a photo to my friend to ask the meaning, and they replied: “The bus isn’t running because of a strike.”
Worst case. I eventually called Uber, regretting not taking it from the start.
Later, we enjoyed coffee at Causeries Paris – Specialty Coffee & Natural Wine (see on map), and I bought a cap at RSVP (see on map) for 45€. We had a fun stroll around the Marais district.

Evening: Isola Sarda Italian Dinner
For dinner, we went to Isola Sarda Paris (see on map).
The pizza with squid ink and mozzarella cream was absolutely delicious — a perfect end to a long day.

Late Morning: Fondation Louis Vuitton
After breakfast, we took the metro to Fondation Louis Vuitton (see on map).
Since it was an extremely hot day, we stopped by MONOPRIX near Les Sablons Station (see on map) to grab some juice before walking to the museum.
The walk was tough in the blazing heat and dust, but it was worth it.
The museum was hosting a David Hockney exhibition (official), which included works created on an iPad.
It was fascinating — I could really feel that “drawn-on-an-iPad” vibe, and the curation was well done.
Every piece was engaging, and the way they were displayed made the whole experience enjoyable.
The building itself was also impressive — a masterpiece of modern architecture.
After the exhibition, we wanted to grab lunch or coffee, but the café inside the museum had a long line.
So we headed back toward Les Sablons Station and had lunch at a restaurant called Durant Dupont (see on map).
The meal cost just under 30€ per person, with drinks around 10€, which felt a bit pricey.

Afternoon: Musée Marmottan Monet
In the afternoon, we visited Musée Marmottan Monet (see on map).
Tickets were 14€ per adult.
Because of the heat, we started in the air-conditioned basement gallery, where many of Monet’s works are displayed.
At first, I was slightly disappointed — the paintings looked pale and lacked color.
I thought, Hmm, maybe this isn’t as great as I expected.
But before leaving, I decided to walk through the exhibit once more.
To my surprise, the same paintings now looked bright, vivid, and full of light.
Apparently, my eyes hadn’t yet adjusted after coming in from the sunny outdoors.
Seeing Monet’s radiant works in their true colors made me very happy.

Evening: Soda and Simple Pleasures
After the museum, we stopped by La Grande Épicerie de Paris (see on map) and had soda at its eat-in counter.
I ordered a cola, and my partner had a lemon soda — 12€ in total, which reminded me again how strong the euro is these days.
The store itself was beautifully arranged, with such elegant displays that made everything look irresistible.
On our way back, we stopped at MONOPRIX (see on map) near Jourdain Station (see on map).
The cheese section was fantastic.
After chatting with the staff, we chose a creamy Brie, and also bought some salami, yogurt, grapefruit juice, chips, and bottled water.
Before heading home, we went back to Maison Marie (see on map) and picked up a baguette and an apple tart for 4.5€.
After a long day under the blazing sun, we were completely exhausted and went to bed by 9 p.m.

A Walk in Parc des Buttes-Chaumont
Then I headed to Parc des Buttes-Chaumont (see on map) in the 19th arrondissement. It’s a large park with lots of elevation changes. I wanted to climb up to the viewpoint in the middle of the lake, but it was closed for renovation. The bridge leading there was also off-limits. A Parisian friend once told me, “That park is always under renovation. ”I wonder if the day will ever come when we can actually go up to that viewpoint. We also wanted to rest at the stylish café-restaurant inside the park (see on map), but it didn’t open until 10 a.m.

Back to the Market and a Cozy Café
From Armand Carrel – Mairie du 19ème (see on map), We took a bus back to the morning market and bought apricots and peaches (€1.6), plus zucchini, eggplant, and potatoes (€2.42).Since card payments were accepted only for purchases over €5, We paid in cash.
Before returning to the apartment, We stopped by Candle Kids Coffee (see on map).The café was full of guests with dogs, and a friendly corgi—probably the café’s own—was lying on the floor waiting to be petted. It was adorable. Two café lattes, a Basque cheesecake, and a carrot cake cost €21.50. The cakes were surprisingly salty at first, but I grew to like them after a few bites.

Lunch and a Disappointing Apricot
Back at the apartment, We tried one of the apricots I had just bought—but it was terrible: sour, hard, and unripe.
While buying them, the shopkeeper was busy chatting with another customer, so I picked them myself. In hindsight, I should have waited and asked him to choose some ripe ones for me.
For lunch, I boiled two large potatoes from the market and topped them with fondue cheese from the fridge.

Afternoon at Parc de Belleville
In the afternoon, We walked to Parc de Belleville (see on map) nearby.
It was bright and quiet, with a relaxed atmosphere—very different from the slightly uneasy feeling I had the night before.
Still, with graffiti-covered walls, people begging, an abandoned mattress, and makeshift shelters inside the park, it didn’t feel like a great spot for a picnic.

Along the Champs-Élysées
We took the metro to Charles de Gaulle–Étoile station (see on map) and began walking along Champs-Élysées.
“This is that Champs-Élysées from my old music textbook!” I thought, feeling a little nostalgic.
The street was incredibly crowded, and the heat was almost unbearable.
I’d always thought June in Paris was perfect for sightseeing—dry, sunny, and pleasant—but that day was too hot to enjoy being outdoors.
Overwhelmed by the heat, we ducked into the Galeries Lafayette (see on map) food court to cool off.
When We saw that a protein juice cost €9, We realized it was way beyond our casual budget, so we quietly left.

Tea Time at Ladurée
After walking under the blazing sun, we finally reached Ladurée (see on map).
At first, We just planned to buy two macarons to eat on the go, but We was tired and wanted to sit, so we went upstairs to the restaurant floor.
A set of four macarons cost €15, while a single one downstairs for takeaway was €2.9—so eating in was a bit pricier.
We ordered four macarons, an iced coffee (€9), and an iced chocolate drink (€11), and took a long, relaxing break.
The total came to €40. The ceiling was draped with soft fabric, porcelain lined the walls, and the wallpaper was charming. It was calm and quiet—perfect for resting.

A Quick Stop and a Handy App
We also stopped by Galerie Vivienne (see on map), but it was under renovation.
Since we used the metro and buses a lot in Paris, We had installed an app called Bonjour RATP on my iPhone.
It lets you buy metro and bus tickets directly and use them just by tapping your iPhone.
However, it takes a few seconds for the purchased ticket to appear in your Wallet app, so if you try to buy one right before boarding, it can feel a bit slow.
You can also register it as an Express Card in Wallet. Once you’ve bought several tickets, the system automatically selects the right one each time you tap. It’s incredibly convenient.

The Long Flight
The flight took about 14 hours. To kill time, I kept looking at the flight map and noticed that our plane was avoiding Russian airspace—apparently because of the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
The route went north over Japan, past the Northern Territories, across Alaska and Iceland, then down through the U.K. before reaching Europe. It felt incredibly long.

Getting to the City
From Charles de Gaulle Airport to central Paris, we took an official airport taxi. The fare was fixed: €56 to the Right Bank and €65 to the Left Bank. Credit cards were accepted, and we could choose to receive an electronic receipt by email or SMS.
The road into Paris was heavily congested.

From Marais to Airbnb
After finishing some errands around the Marais district, we called an Uber and headed to the Airbnb we had booked.
Paris has many one-way streets. Our Uber driver missed a turn, and because of the one-way system, she couldn’t go back. We ended up dragging our suitcases up a slope to our Airbnb.
The Uber ride from the Marais to the area near Belleville Park (see on map) cost €17.93.

Evening in Belleville Park
When we finally arrived and took a short rest, it was already 8 p.m.
But in early June, Paris stays bright until late. The Airbnb host told us, “You can see the Eiffel Tower beautifully at night from Belleville Park,” so we went out for an evening walk.
When we arrived, groups of young people were having rap battles with loud music, a mattress was left on the observation platform, and many others were drinking on the ground. My partner and I agreed that “this park feels a bit unsafe at night,” so we left before the Eiffel Tower lights came on.

Ending the Day
Before returning to our room, we stopped by a nearby supermarket, Carrefour City (see on map), to buy pizza and salad. Back at our place, we baked the pizza in the oven, drizzled olive oil and salt over the salad, brushed our teeth, and went straight to bed.

近所のスーパーAuchan Supermarché Voltaire – Paris（地図）で土産物の物色をした。ボンヌママンのお菓子はカルフールシティやモノプリよりも安価な値段設定だった。ハーブティーもオリジナルブランドのものがいろいろと売られていた。

そこから徒歩で移動して、ナチュラリアNATURALIA（地図）へ。ここでは日本よりも割安な価格でメルヴィータのオイルなどが購入できる。メルヴィータのアボカドオイルが10.99€（1,819円）だったので、目尻の乾燥を気にしていた友人へのプレゼントにした。

モノプリMONOPRIX（地図）に行ってみたら結構大きな店舗で、2階すべてが食品フロアになっていた。この店舗でもお菓子をお土産として購入した。プチプラ土産で人気のモノプリのエコバッグだが、一つ3€（497円）するので『そんなに安くはないよな』とおれは思う。

今回の旅の最後の外食は、Café du coin（地図）にランチのコース料理を食べに行った。開店と同時に行ったのだが、テーブルはすでに予約でいっぱいになっていて、われわれはカウンターに通して貰った。フェンネルの前菜、鴨肉、アプリコットのタルトを選び、そのどれもが、全部美味しかった。カウンターに座ってコース料理を食べるのは、何だか小慣れた感じがして、を楽しめたので良い思い出になった。あと、店員さんの対応がフランクで親しみやすくて良かった。大満足のお店だった。二人で48€（7,942円）だった。ただ、アプリコットのタルトは、恋人にとっては少し酸っぱすぎたようだ。

部屋に戻って、荷物をパッキングした後、空港へ向かうにはまだ少し時間があったのでメゾンキツネMaison Kitsuné Filles du Calvaire（地図）へ行った。その日からセールが始まったらしく、ラッキーだった。キャップを購入して店を出て、メルシーMerci（地図）を冷やかし、エアビーに戻った。

最後にもう一度、Les Gourmandises ,Glaces maison（地図）のアイスクリームを食べたかったのだが、開店時刻の15時ちょうどにはオープンしておらず、このお店の超絶美味しいアイスは断念して、近くのアイス屋La Glace Alain Ducasse, Manufacture à Paris（地図）に行った。柚子パッションフルーツと、グレープフルーツのアイスを小さいサイズのカップに掬ってもらい、7€（1,159円）だった。柚子パッションフルーツがびっくりする程の強い酸味で笑ってしまった。でも暑い日だったのでさっぱりとして美味しかった。

オペラ座ロワシーバス停留所からロワシーバスに乗り込む。チケットはBonjour RATP（appストア）で購入（13€：2,281円）しておいたので、タッチ決済で乗ることができた。ただ、おれが乗ったロワシーバスのエアコンが壊れていて、酷い暑さの中空港まで移動したのは苦痛の極みだった。16時17分にオペラ座の停留所を出発し、渋滞に巻き込まれて17時30分にシャルル・ド・ゴール国際空港のターミナル3シャトルトレイン乗り場で降ろされた。運転手には「ここからはシャトルトレインでターミナル1に移動してくれ」と言われた。

シャトルトレインでターミナル1に移動し、セキュリティを通過し、搭乗口近くのベンチに座ってようやくホッと一息付けた。ラップトップを充電しようとしてベンチのコンセントにACアダプタを挿したものの、どういうわけか充電できなかったので、モバイルバッテリーで充電をした。そして、MacBook Air付属の純正ACアダプタをコンセントに挿しっぱなしにして飛行機に乗ってしまい、日本に到着してすぐにCAから教えてもらったシャルル・ド・ゴール空港落し物問合わせフォームで届け出を行ったが、ACアダプタがおれの手元に戻ってくることはついぞなかった。
